Postpartum Doula in Berlin

Postpartum Doula in Berlin ✺

Black & queer postpartum doula in Berlin

Frances (they/she) is a full-spectrum doula based in Berlin, fluent in English and French and proficient in German.

As a doula, my mission is to provide support, empowerment, and guidance to all parents during their postpartum journey.

Whether you prefer in-person care or virtual support, I’m here to provide tailored services to meet your unique needs.

What is a Doula?

  • The doula is a trained non-medical professional who provides emotional, physical, educational, and spiritual support to a parent who is expecting, is experiencing labor, or has recently given birth. Their purpose is to help parents have a safe, memorable, and empowering birthing experience.

  • A birth doula is a companion who provides people with continuous support during labor and birth. With their support, birth givers were less likely to have pain-relief medications administered and less likely to have a cesarean birth. They also reported having a more positive childbirth experience. more here

  • A postpartum doula supports a person’s new life after birth. They are a key person to have in your support network — easing some stress and empowering parents in other ways. Beyond that, a postpartum doula can also identify early signs of depression or other mental health issues and give you resources so you get the help you need as soon as possible. more here

  • An abortion doula provides physical and emotional support to a person, before, during or after their abortion process. It's an added level of care outside of the actual medical care where providers are attuning to whatever the patients' needs are, to make them as comfortable as possible.

Are you currently pregnant?

Recognizing that postpartum is a lifelong process, my commitment as a postpartum doula is to ensure that the families I work with experience a smooth and well-supported transition into their new life after birth.

I strongly believe in the significance of accompanying & supporting families during this transformative time by assisting them in navigating the difficulties and triumphs that come with new parenthood.

When we open ourselves up to receiving support during life-changing events like birth, we create a space for a culture of care to flourish.

Approach

Approach

Throughout my experience as a postpartum doula, I seek to hold and cultivate space for individual and communal care. My approach to birth work is rooted in intersectional feminism, trauma-informed care, deep listening, and cultural humility.

By allowing oneself to be supported in life-altering experiences such as birth, together, we can invite and foster a culture of care that is empowering, informed by choice, holistically supported, and more just. I offer care & support for BIPOC, Queer, Trans & international families in Berlin.

I provide inclusive, holistic & compassionate care to all my clients.
